Spotlight applications
Spotlight applications will differ from use cases by the following:
1. they enable evaluation of the task-agnostic models, especially for downstream tasks involving limited data, class imbalance, noisy labels, etc.
2. they allow for quick scientific accomplishments and some “quick wins”; and
3. they serve as examples to facilitate the use of Copernicus foundation models and Earth as a Graph by 3rd parties.
The spotlight applications will show how these techniques give tangible improvements to real world problems faced by a diverse range of stakeholders.in addressing key societal challenges. We will develop two spotlight applications in the 1st cycle and two more in the 2nd cycle.
